Fees for Activity and Field Trips

Schools:  

The current price per mile to take a school bus trip will be:

  • Up to 50 miles the charge is $4.00 per mile.
  • 51 to 100: will be $2.50 per mile.
  • 101 to 200 will be charged $1.55 per mile.
  • 201 miles or more will be charged $1.30 a mile.

The minimum fee charged for any activity will be $35.00. Overnight trips will be charged a fee of $50.00.Requests need to be submitted through a trip request at least 10 working days in advance.

Transportation will charge: a $50.00 late fee for requests not received 10 days prior or cancellations submitted within twenty-four (24) hours of travel time. (Excluding tournaments or weather-related cancellations.)

District Vehicles:

A District SUV costs $.50 per mile. Travel requests must be entered with SUV as trip type.

A District Car costs .20 per mile for any trip more than 150 miles, and .32 per mile for trips less than 150 miles. Travel requests must be entered with District Car as trip type.

Community or Other Government Entities:

Any trip that isn't school sanctioned will be billed $45.00 per hour. The agency will be charged by the hour until the driver is released from duty by the trip supervisor at the completion of the trip or released from duty by the trip supervisor and given a return time to complete the trip. The agency will be charged one additional hour (per day) for pre-trip and post-trip time to prepare and inspect the bus. When the trip includes an overnight stay, the agency is required to arrange for and provide a hotel room for the bus driver.

Requests must be submitted with completed documentation to the District Office at least 14 working days in advance.
