Registration links will be posted asap. Incoming 5th and 6th grade students may participate.Southwest Symphony Field Trip for all 3rd Grade students
Each year we bus all 3rd grade students to a free concert with our local Southwest Symphony. It is highly educational and introduces students to the instruments and different elements of music, including melody, harmony, beat and tempo.Performances at Elementary Schools
We will work to create opportunities for fine arts groups to perform at elementary schools including high school music groups. This will help elementary students see how they can participate in music throughout their school career.Teacher training and collaboration in regards to recruiting and retention.
Teachers will be provided training in regards to training and recruiting. They will then be provided time to collaborate and create a plan of action.Morning Strings options
We have been providing mornings strings at each cone site. We will expand to certain elementary schools that have typical lower involvement. Schools are being identified and will announced soon.Registration forms for students entering Intermediate Schools have been made more fine arts friendly. There is a clear path for students to take fine arts, especially for those involved in Dual Immersion.
We are working with the WCSD Internship program to provide opportunities for high schools students interested in a career in music education to be able to work with students at the intermediate and middle school credit, while receiving high school credit for the class.
