NEW - Assistant Superintendent Elementary Education

Nate Esplin

The Washington County School District Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Nathan Esplin as the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education. Nate will replace Rex Wilkey who will retire in June. Nate's new assignment begins on July 1, 2021.

Nate grew up in Santa Clara, Utah, where he attended Santa Clara Elementary and later graduated from Snow Canyon High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education Degree from Southern Utah University. He has also earned a Ph.D. in education from Utah State University. Nate started his education career by teaching fourth grade at Coral Cliffs Elementary School. He then spent six years as the principal of Sunset Elementary. In 2013 Nate had the opportunity of helping open Crimson View Elementary. He currently serves as the Executive Director of Elementary Education Effectiveness.

Nate and his wife Kat are proud parents of five boys and one girl. In his free time, he enjoys attending his kid's sporting events, watching baseball, and snow skiing with his kids.
