National School Nurse Month
May is National Nurses Month, WCSD would like to celebrate and recognize the contributions that our school nurses make toward bridging health with education for the students of WCSD.
Our school nurses serve at least five schools each. They develop and help implement healthcare plans for students so that they are better ready to learn; they manage complex chronic conditions; help level the field on health disparities; handle school medical emergencies and promote healthy behaviors. This past year they played an essential and integral role in navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. Check out this diagram to see more of what school nurses do! They are champions of the whole student every day all school year.
