Melissa Dietzel - Principal, Sandstone Elementary
Melissa was born in Idaho and moved to Utah at the age of three. She loves Utah and is proud to call it home. Melissa grew up with six children in her family, and her father was an elementary school teacher for thirty-three years for the Washington County School District. She graduated from Dixie High School
and continued her education at Southern Utah University.
After graduating from SUU with a Bachelor in Elementary Education, Melissa moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, and started her teaching career. She taught in Clark County for eight years, and during that time, she completed her first Master's Degree in Education Administration.
In 2007 Melissa moved home to Utah. She began teaching second grade at Riverside Elementary and then later became a learning coach. She loved working with the Riverside community and having the experience to teach and mentor. During this time, she also completed her second Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership. Two years ago, Melissa was given the opportunity to open Coral Cliffs Professional Development School and has loved getting to know and working with the children and families there.
Melissa enjoys spending time with her family. She loves being a wife and mother and cherishes the time she has with them. She is also an animal lover and an aspiring author and loves to read and paint. Melissa is very excited to work with the wonderful children, parents, and faculty at Sandstone Elementary.
