New Principal - WCHS

The District is pleased to announce the selection of Steve Showalter as the new Principal of Water Canyon High School. Steve is the current assistant principal of Desert Hills High School.

Steve was born in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Southern California when he was young and lived there for eight years. He moved to Park City, Utah when he was in the fifth grade and lived there until he moved to St. George when he was a junior in high school. Steve graduated from Snow Canyon High School in 1999. He attended Arizona State University for his Bachelor’s Degree, where he met his wife Denise, before coming back to St. George to teach 5th grade at Diamond Valley Elementary for seven years. He received his Administrative Master’s Degree in 2011 from Southern Utah University and moved down to become the Title I Coordinator at Dixie Sun Elementary for four years and then moved on to become the Assistant Principal at Dixie Middle School for the last four years. He loves spending time with his wife, his son Andrew, and their two dogs hiking, traveling, golfing, and going to baseball games. He loved his time at Dixie Middle School and misses everyone there, and was loving the opportunity to work with the students, parents, and faculty at Desert Hills High School while becoming a part of the Thunder Family. While he wishes his time was longer at DHHS, he can’t wait to start his career at Water Canyon High School and lead the school community there to new heights.

Please join with us in congratulating Steve Showalter.
