Ron began his career 27 years ago teaching science and coaching football and basketball at Pine View Middle School. He earned his Master's Degree in Education in 1996 and completed his Administrative Endorsement in 2006 from Southern Utah University where he was named Educational Leadership Student of the Year.

Ron joined the Thunder family in 2008 as a Biology teacher at Desert Hills High School.  In the 2011-12 school year, Ron had the opportunity to serve as the assistant principal at Monticello High School.  Working at MHS was an incredible experience and prepared him for the assistant principal position at Desert Hills Middle School, which he began in 2014.

Ron has been married for 28 years to Jenny and their three children graduated from Desert Hills High School, where all excelled in athletics and academics.  Their children - Darian, Kale, and Garrick all accepted Track/XC/Academic scholarships to Utah Valley University upon graduation from DHHS! The teachers and coaches at DHHS were instrumental in their success and perfect examples of the amazing educators in the Washington County School District.

Ron is extremely excited to work with the faculty, staff, students and parents at DHMS in his new role as Principal and will strive to continue, and improve on, the many great traditions and educational qualities of the Thunder family!

Please join us in congratulating Ron!
