New Southwest High School Administrator
The District is please to announce the selection of Sheri Fisher as the Administrator over Adult Education at Southwest High School. Sheri will replace Jim McKim who plans to retire at the end of this contract year.
Sheri graduated from Prescott Community College, AZ with a B.S. Degree in Music Education with an emphasis in Choral Conducting and a minor in Business. She taught music at Sedona Elementary School (K-8) in Sedona Arizona before moving to Utah in 1992 accepting a teaching position at Pine View Middle School as the Choir/Music and Business teacher. She transferred to Hurricane Middle School in 1995 where she taught Business and CTE classes. She earned her Master’s Degree in Psychology and Counseling from Utah State University and worked as a counselor for Hurricane Middle School, Phelps Elementary School and Desert Hills Intermediate School until 2006. During that time she received her Administrative Endorsement from Southern Utah University. Sheri has served as an Assistant Principal for the past 10 years at Hurricane Intermediate School, Hurricane High School and currently Dixie Middle School.
Sheri and Brian have been married for 17 years. They have a blended family of 7 children, 6 grandchildren and one on the way! She enjoys hiking, running, golfing, cycling and stays busy helping her son in his restaurant and her own health and fitness endeavors. Sheri and her son, Cameron, were recently asked to teach the Healthy Cooking and Nutrition Demo for the WCSD Wellness Program.
Throughout her 24 years of experience at the various levels of education, Sheri has developed a great appreciation for the opportunity and importance of education in helping one achieve success in life and hopes to impart that motivation to the students in the Adult Education Programs. She has loved each school, administration and faculty she has worked with and looks for forward to being a part of another amazing school and faculty at Southwest High School.
