Two Elite Students Selected for Exclusive Leadership Program
Two cadets from the Dixie High School Air Force Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (AFJROTC) are part of the elite 67 applicants worldwide selected to attend General Tommy Franks Four Star Leadership program this summer. Cadets Cole Cutner and Jack Wright, both seniors at Dixie High, will attend the program July 9-15 in Hobart, Oklahoma. This program includes team-building exercises, spontaneous problem solving and coaching in persuasive speaking and writing. It is made possible and completely free to the selected students because of generous sponsors. The students will explore critical national and international issues such as educational reform, foreign policy and entitlement spending.
Among this year’s guest speakers at the leadership program are Ret. Four Star General and Commander-in-Chief of United States Central Command Tommy Franks, Keller Williams President and CEO Mo Anderson, former Irish Government Minister for Justice and Law Reform Dermot Ahern, as well as country music star Neal McCoy and dozens of others.
Cadet Cutner (Left in photo) is Armed Team Drill Commander, Color Guard Events Commander, and 4-Man Armed Exhibition Team Commander. He earned the Air Force Association Medal and Distinguished Cadet Badge this year. He was also the most impressive Dixie cadet during the National Drill Commanders’ Camp in Dallas, Texas last summer.
Cadet Wright (Right in photo) is the Assistant Armed Team Drill Commander, and one of our 4-Man Armed Exhibition Team Commanders. He earned the Reserve Officer Association Medal this year and won a flight scholarship after soloing in Civil Air Patrol's brand new Cessna 172 in March.
