Superintendent Bergeson Welcomes Back Parents and Students

Office of the Superintendent

Dear Parents and Students,

As Superintendent of Washington County School District, I am very excited for the start of another successful school year and welcome back the many new and returning students and staff at each of our schools.

We’ve just completed our centennial celebration for the District and as we move into our 101st year, please remember these are pivotal times in the history of our community and nation. I encourage you to find ways to become involved in your schools and community. There are many extra-curricular activities offered at our schools. Research shows the connection between student academic achievement and positive character development gained through the association with these teams, clubs and activities.

You are the future stewards of our cities, states and of our nation. You have continually outperformed your counterparts across the state and country academically. As you study to learn and actively participate in our schools, I hope you are inspired to always do your best and look forward to a continuation of learning throughout your lifetime.

I also offer my sincere thanks to the many parents who have raised the great students that attend our schools. We recognize and appreciate the daunting task it is to raise a well-rounded child in today’s world and know that as we work together we can accomplish great things. Thank you and welcome to the 2016-17 school year!

Sincerely,

Larry G. Bergeson

Superintendent of Schools
